3 DIMENSIONAL ART & BEYOND PT. 1

This was easily the largest category of work that was shown at Art Basel, and was the hardest to categorize. It was so extensive that we had to break it up into 2 posts. The selections represent everything from traditional sculpture, carving, ceramics, abstract assembly, and 3-dimensional installation work.

Here's part 1.

Huge rubber band knots attached to the ceiling.

From the "as is" section at IKEA.

Break in case of emergency. We need these for alignment/adoption.

Ornate shovel heads. These were amazing.

A giant styrofoam robot. Coolest thing...EV-ERRR.

Illuminated container art. These were actual commercial containers that were stripped down, drilled, and made into a series of sculptural lamps. Dheen loves these.

Corny mayan calendar. THIS IS OVER 7 FEET IN DIAMETER!! unreal.

Customized prints on couches.

Skeletal collage.

Nothing says fun like a giant Elvis pinata.

Asian inspired porcelain art. An example of a strong trend of appropriating traditional crafts/methods into more contemporary expressions/ideas.

Foam cookoo clock.

Waiters at every table at SCOPE's lounge area.

Wooden art.

A cathedral of guns, complete with trigger finger.

Animal inspired scuplture and assembly.

Sombrero dubs.

Wooden animal bust by AJ FOSIK
